UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for June 23 to 29, 2015

RCMP received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was registered and parked legally.

CN Police reported a malfunction with the railway crossing arms twice during the week.

Police received a complaint of garbage thrown on a rural property north of Unity, SK. The subject of complaint returned to the property to clean up the garbage. No charges were laid.

A licence plate was missing from a vehicle but was later located on another vehicle. The second vehicle’s licence plate was then reported missing.

There was a report of a hit and run that caused damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of fuel at a Unity gas station. The subject of complaint was located and returned to pay for the fuel. No charges were laid.

A medical review was completed for an individual during a traffic stop as the member was concerned about the individual’s driving capability.

Members acted as mediators between two rural neighbours regarding loose livestock.

Police received a complaint of a generator and a jerry can of fuel stolen from a locked trailer in a rural area south of Unity. The generator is described as a new Champion Generator with camouflage colorings. The matter is still under investigation.

RCMP charged a 28-year-old Marwayne female with failing to comply with a probation order when she blew a warning while providing a breath sample during a traffic stop. She also received a 72 hour driving suspension.

There was a fire west of Unity. Unity fire department extinguished the fire.

There was also one traffic complaint, two false alarms and one false fire alarm.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for June 9 to 15, 2015

RCMP received a report that lawn ornaments were taken from a residence. This was reported for information purposes.

A black bear was spotted near the Unity Regional Park. A Saskatchewan conservation officer was notified.

Members acted as mediators in a family disagreement.

A “For Sale” sign was stolen from the front lawn of a residence. It is black and red and has the owner’s phone number displayed on it. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of this sign please contact the Unity RCMP.

There were also four false alarms and one traffic complaint.

Unity SK RCMP Reports June 2 to 8, 2015

RCMP are currently investigating a large number of auto and recreational vehicle thefts in the Wilkie rural areas, particularly early on June 21 and early on June 18. Many of the vehicles stolen have been recovered in and around the Red Pheasant Cree Nation in the Battlefords detachment area.

Unity RCMP is working with the Battlefords RCMP to make arrests and lay charges in these matters.  he Unity RCMP will update the public when charges are laid in these matters and will identify charged persons except for those who are young offenders.

Unity RCMP would like to remind the public that the best way to deter thefts of motor vehicles and large recreational vehicles is to remove the keys from them, and to lock them up.

UNITY REPORTS

RCMP received a report of theft but it was unfounded.

There was a vehicle collision with a deer on Highway 14 near Unity, Saskatchewan. There were no injuries.

Police received a report of an unwanted individual at a rural residence. Members attended but the individual was gone on arrival.

There was a complaint of a vehicle driving by pedestrians and the vehicle driver yelling swear words and making obscene gestures. Members were unable to locate the vehicle driver.

Members assisted Unity ambulance and the Unity hospital staff with a patient suffering from a mental health issue.

RCMP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch, that had been in a collision. The registered owner was located by members. No injuries. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a complaint of a quad driving recklessly in Scott. Patrols will be made.

There was also one false alarm.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS May 12 to 18

RCMP acted as a mediator between two individuals having a disagreement. The subject of complaint was transported to another residence.

Members attended a residence to investigate a 911 call where two individuals were heard arguing. The complainant declined to lay charges.

There was a report of an abandoned trailer at Suffern Lake, Saskatchewan. The owner of the property will have the vehicle removed as members could not contact the registered owner of the trailer.

Police received a complaint of uttering threats but it was unfounded.

RCMP received a request to make patrols to Gravel Lake, SK, on the weekend. Patrols were made. No need for police action.

Member issued a 72-hour roadside suspension when a vehicle driver blew a warning while providing a breath sample during a traffic stop.

Unity Detachment received a request from Biggar Detachment to be on the lookout for a vehicle travelling west on Highway 14. Members located the vehicle and issued a 72-hour roadside suspension when the vehicle driver blew a warning while providing a breath sample. The vehicle driver was also arrested for assault charges pending out of Biggar.

Police received a complaint of couple arguing over property. This is a civil matter. Members received another complaint from the same individuals the following day.

There was a single vehicle collision on Highway 21 north of Unitym SK. There were no injuries. The vehicle driver was issued a traffic ticket.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual entering a residence backyard. This matter is still under investigation.
