RCMP Reports for April 17 to 23

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for April 17 to 23, 2018

RCMP attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 21 north of Unity, Saskatchewan. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

Police received a report of trespassing. Members attended and requested the subject of complaint leave the premises. There were no further issues.

Members received a request to attend a residence to pick up firearms that the owner no longer wanted. The firearms were disposed as part of the provincial gun amnesty.

RCMP issued a 72-hour roadside suspension to an individual during a traffic stop.

Police received a complaint of individuals hunting by Highway 14 east of Unity. Members located the subjects of complaint and noted they were complying with regulations.

There was also one traffic complaint and one false 911 call.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for April 10 to 16, 2018

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a rural area west of Unity, Saskatchewan. Members patrolled but could not locate the vehicle.

Unity RCMP provided breath technician services for Luseland Police Services.

Members are investigating a break-and-enter into a business and a residence at Denzil, Sask.

Police are assisting a family in locating an individual.

There were also two traffic complaints.

RCMP Reports for April 3 to 9

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for April 3 to 9, 2018

CN police reported a train stuck on the railway track on the Highway 14 crossing. CN had the train moved.  No police action necessary.

RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a rural farmyard. Members located the suspect vehicle abandoned in the rural area. The vehicle had been stolen out of the Provost, Alberta, area. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a request to attend a residence to pick up four firearms that the owner no longer wanted. The firearms were disposed as part of the provincial gun amnesty.

Police received a complaint of fraud but it was unfounded.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with subject of complaint while at Unity Health Centre for an assessment. The individual was released to the care of a friend.

CP Police reported a train stopping on Cut Knife grid road due to a medical emergency. No police action necessary.

Members received a report of a train blocking both railway crossings in Unity. The train crew had noted safety issues with train cars and moved the train as soon as the issue was resolved.

RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a male from the Unity area.

Members acted as mediators in a neighbor dispute.

RCMP received a report of a hit and run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police received a complaint of trespassing. Members patrolled but could not locate the subjects of complaint.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members transported the individual to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.

There were also two false alarms, one traffic complaint and two false 911 calls.

RCMP received a report of an intoxicated individual walking down the street. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

Police received a complaint of theft from an oil lease near Winter, Saskatchewan. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a report of an abandoned vehicle north of Unity. Members spoke to the registered owner.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction at Scott SK.

RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Unity. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

Members conducted a well-being check on an individual at the request of an employer.

Police are investigating a break-and-enter at a rural business.

Members provided traffic control on Highway 14 near Evesham after a semi jack-knifed across the highway due to poor road conditions.

RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision north of Evesham, Sask. The collision was due to poor road conditions.

Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a rural area near Denzil SK. Members spoke with the complainant.

RCMP received a report of an individual neglecting animals. Members referred the information to the Bylaw Officer.

Police received a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with an patient which was cancelled shortly thereafter.

A 43-year-old female from Unity was charged with failing to comply with a probation order at the request of North Battleford Community Corrections.

Police received a complaint of taking a motor vehicle without consent but the complainant declined to lay charges.

Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a family member.

RCMP received a complaint of breach of peace. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious person. Members patrolled but the individual was gone on arrival.

A 43-year-old female from Unity was charged with failing to comply with a probation order at the request of North Battleford Community Corrections.

A 72-hour roadside suspension was issued during a traffic stop. A liquor ticket was also issued to the vehicle driver.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. The subject of complaint returned to pay for the fuel. No charges were laid.

Members attended the sudden death of a 27-year-old male from the Unity area. The death was not suspicious in nature.

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats but it was unsubstantiated.

Police received a complaint of breach of peace. Members assisted the subject of complaint in locating another place to stay.  No charges were laid.

A 74-year-old male from Unity was charged with impaired operation of motor vehicle during a traffic stop.

There was a report of a suspicious vehicle. Members patrolled but could not locate the vehicle.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious person. Members patrolled but could not locate the individual.

Members assisted an individual it obtaining medical assistance after receiving a report of a 911 hang up.

Members are investigating a report of invitation to sexual touching.

Midget AA Lazers out in Centre Four semifinal

Despite a valiant effort, the Unity Midget AA Lazers lost their Centre Four Hockey League semifinal series against the Warman Wildcats, three games to two. Congratulations on a good season, boys, and we wish you all the best next year wherever you may be.
