RCMP Reports for July 25 to 31

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for July 25 to 31, 2017

RCMP received a complaint of theft. Member issued a verbal warning to the subject of complaint. Complainant declined to lay charges.

A 61-year-old Unity male was charged with mischief and failing to comply with a probation order after police received a complaint of an individual harassing employees at a local business.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle. Members located the registered owner who moved the vehicle.

RCMP received a complaint of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members attended a minor traffic collision to act as mediators between the two vehicle drivers.

Police conducted a well-being check on an individual at the request of a family friend.

RCMP received a report of a semi-truck on fire near Scott, Sask. The fire was not suspicious in nature.

There was a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a report of a damaged street light. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle. Members patrolled but could not locate the vehicle.

RCMP received another complaint of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members are investigating a complaint of an injured farm animal.

There were also two traffic complaints, two false alarms and one false 911 call.

A truck stolen from Unity July 24 was recovered by Blackfalds Alberta RCMP July 27. Matthew MacDonald, 31 years old, of Bashaw Alta., was charged with possession of stolen property and held in custody on this and other matters.

RCMP looking for “person of interest”

After a hit-and-run in the parking lot at the Delta Co-op grocery store in Unity SK, July 9 at about 6:20 pm, police are looking for information.

Surveillance video has identified a person of interest and Unity RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the person shown below.
