UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for April 18 to 24, 2017

RCMP received a report of theft of fuel from a local gas station. Members located the subject of complaint who agreed to return to pay for the fuel.

Unity Fire Department informed RCMP of a controlled burn.

There was a grass fire near Unity, Saskatchewan. The fire was extinguished by Unity Fire Department.

Police received a report of a semi-truck stalled on a railway crossing. Members contacted CN Police to cancelled rail traffic until truck was removed.  No charges were laid as the truck had a mechanical issue.

RCMP received a complaint of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members are investigating a complaint of property damaged by spray paint.

There was a report of a suspicious person near the ball diamonds in Unity. Members patrolled but could not locate subject of complaint.

A 72-hour roadside driving suspension was issued when the vehicle driver blew a warning while providing a breath sample during a traffic stop.

RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members attended and requested the subject of complaint leave the premises.  There were no further issues.

A 61-year-old Wilkie male was charged with Impaired care and control of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop.

Members received a request to secure a residence as the resident was in the health centre.

Members advised an individual to stay off school grounds during school hours as the individual had no reason to be there during that time.

There was also one traffic complaint and one false alarm.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for April 4 to 10, 2017

RCMP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

There was a vehicle collision in the parking lot at Unity Composite High School, Unity, Saskatchewan. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police received a request to keep the peace between an employer and an employee.

Members initiated a peace bond application between two individuals at the request of the Crown Prosecutor.

RCMP received a report of a suspicious male walking in the back alley of a residence. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

CN Police reported a grass fire near the train tracks in a rural area near Unity SK. Police action was not necessary as the fire was already extinguished by Unity Fire Department.  The fire was re-ignited in the same area the next day and was also extinguished.

Police received a complaint of a break-and-enter into a building at the Unity ball diamonds. This matter is still under investigation.

There was also one false 911 call.

RCMP received a report of a round bale on Highway 675 south of Reward, Saskatchewan. Members attended but the bale had been removed.

Police received a complaint of failing to comply with an undertaking but it was unfounded.

There was a report of a vehicle collision with an animal. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members received a complaint of a neglected animal. The complaint was referred to the bylaw officer.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the subject of complaint who remained in the care of a family member.

There was another complaint of failing to comply with an undertaking but it was also unfounded.

Police received a report of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

There were also three false alarms.

RCMP received a child welfare complaint. The information was referred to Child and Family Services.

Members issued a 72-hour roadside suspension to a vehicle driver during a traffic stop.

Police received a complaint of assault but it was unfounded.

There was a report of a vehicle hitting a business. The vehicle driver was issued a traffic ticket.

RCMP received a report of a residence fire. The fire was non-suspicious.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint was transported to Unity hospital for assessment.

There were also two traffic complaints and one false alarm.
