After the top four teams each ended the round robin with a 2 and 1 win-loss record, the semifinals were determined: North East Red Sox versus the Lloydminster Twins and the Wilkie Brewers versus the Unity Cardinals.
It was the Red Sox and the Cardinals who advanced to ply in the provincial 2017 Senior AA Tier 3 Championship final at Unity SK August 13, 2017. The Cardinals beat the Brewers 12 – 3.

A truck stolen from Unity July 24 was recovered by Blackfalds Alberta RCMP July 27. Matthew MacDonald, 31 years old, of Bashaw Alta., was charged with possession of stolen property and held in custody on this and other matters.

A 29-year-old male from Waskatenau, Alta., and a 50-year-old female from Vermilion, Alta., were charged with possession of property valued at over $5,000 obtained by crime and failure to comply with a condition of an undertaking after police received reports of suspicious individuals and theft.
Members received a complaint of harassing communications. There are no suspects at this time.
Police received an inquiry about when power would be restored to the Unity area during a power outage. Members contacted SaskPower who had already been informed of the outage and did not know when it would be restored.

Police attended a two vehicle collision on Highway 14 near the Scott turnoff. The driver of one vehicle was transported to Wilkie Health Centre and then to Saskatoon Royal University Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. No charges were laid.
