UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for December 5 to 11, 2017

RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 21 north of Unity, Saskatchewan. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

Members were called to a financial disagreement between a landlord and a tenant. The complaint was civil in nature.

Police conducted a well-being check at the request of a family member.

A 36-year-old male from Unity was charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking after RCMP received a complaint of theft.

RCMP are investigating a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle.

Members seized cannabis marihuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop. The amount of drugs located in the vehicle was too small to proceed with charges.

Police received a report of a herd of buffalo on Highway 14 east of Unity. The animals had been herded back into the field before Member arrived.

A 32-year-old Unity male was charged with assault and possession of cannabis marijuana after police received a complaint of assault. As the male was on parole at the time, his parole was revoked, and he remains in custody.

Members received a complaint of individuals damaging a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

There were also two false alarms, one false 911 call, one traffic complaint and one abandoned vehicle.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for November 28 to December 4, 2017

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Scott, Saskatchewan.

RCMP attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 14 west of Unity, Sask. Two individuals were transported to Unity hospital with injuries.  The collision was due to very icy road conditions.  No charges were laid.

Police are investigating a report of a stolen truck near Denzil SK

A 48-year-old Unity male was charged with possession of cannabis marijuana during a traffic stop. He was also issued a traffic ticket.

Members attended the sudden death of an 11-year-old male at a rural area near Denzil. The death is not suspicious in nature.

RCMP received a complaint of intoxicated individuals at Unity Community Centre. Members attended but all parties were gone on arrival.

Police received a complaint of individuals arguing in public. Members attended and spoke with the subjects of complaint.  No charges were laid.

Members received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the complainant and offered assistance with a referral to receive support.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Unity.

Police seized cannabis resin during a traffic stop. The amount of drugs located in the vehicle was too small to warrant charges- Subject warned.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for November 21 to 27, 2017

RCMP received a complaint of missing property. This matter is still under investigation.

Members issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

Police conducted a well-being check on an individual at the request of an agency.

There was a report of an abandoned vehicle. The registered owner had moved the vehicle before members arrived.

An individual reported finding an ATM machine in the ditch on a rural road near Senlac, Saskatchewan. Members discovered it had been stolen from Provost, Alberta, and returned the property to the owner. There are no suspects at this time.

RCMP assisted an individual by making a referral to INTERPOL.

Members served a subpoena to an individual in our detachment area at the request of Saskatoon Crown Prosecution Office.

Police are investigating an incident of possession of property obtained by crime.

A 22-year-old male from Lloydminster was charged with public mischief while members were investigating a vehicle that fled from RCMP during a traffic stop.

Unity RCMP received several requests to assist with an individual with mental health issues.

Members received a request to complete a child welfare check.

CP Rail reported three railway crossing malfunctions occurring in Unity, Saskatchewan, simultaneously.

Police received a report of fraud. There are no suspects.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Scott SK.

RCMP received a complaint of theft and are seeking assistance from the public in solving the theft that occurred at a work site in the RM of Senlac. Between November 13, and November 15, approximately $5,000 worth of cable was cut from the work site, and stolen. Members sent out a media release. There are no suspects.

There was a single vehicle collision near Senlac, Sask. There were no injuries.

Police provided traffic control while a semi was blocking Highway 21 south of Unity due to bad road conditions.

Members received a complaint of breach of peace. Complainant declined to lay charges.

RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter at Plains Marketing. There are no suspects at this time.

Police received a complaint of harassing social media messaging. Members warned the subject of complaint.

There were also six false alarms, eight traffic complaints and one false 911 call.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for November 7 to 13, 2017

RCMP received a complaint of assault but the complainant declined to lay charges.

Members are investigating a report of forgery.

Police received a complaint of assault. A 24-year-old male from Unity was charged with assault and resisting a peace officer and a 24-year-old female from Unity was also charged with assault.

There was a complaint of uttering threats but it was unfounded.

Members attended a residence on two separate occasions this week to keep the peace while an individual retrieved personal property.

RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications but it was unfounded.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity.

Police are investigating the theft of a large piece of oilfield equipment. The equipment, known as a blow-out preventer, was stolen from a Cona Resources lease near Winter, Saskatchewan, and belongs to Cru Well Services.

Members are investigating a fraud complaint.

CN Police reported a single train car derailment near Unity SK. There was no danger to the public and no environmental concerns.  Police did not attend.  The incident was reported to RCMP as per CN Railway policy.

RCMP received a complaint of an intoxicated individual walking on the street. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

A 36-year-old male from Unity and a youth from Unity were both charged with theft Under $5,000 after RCMP received a complaint of theft. The adult male was also issued a liquor ticket for providing liquor to a minor, an offence with a voluntary payment of $1,050.

Members attended the sudden death of a 65-year-old female from the Unity area. The death was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a complaint of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications. Members spoke to the subject of complaint. No charges were laid.

Members received a request to assist Child and Family Services with a child welfare investigation.

Members received a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with a patient.

Police received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of loose cattle on Highway 14 near Unity, Sask. Members attended but the owners were already herding the cattle back into the pasture.

Police received a report of a single vehicle hitting the ditch in a rural area. The collision was due to icy road conditions.  There were no injuries.

Members received a report of a single vehicle rollover near Unity. There were no injuries.  This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of a break-and-enter at a residence but it was unfounded.

There was another complaint of a break-and-enter at a residence. This matter is still under investigation.

Members spoke to an individual regarding keeping the peace at a residence.

CN Police reported two railway crossing malfunctions in Unity, Saskatchewan, this week.

Police received a complaint of fraud but it was unfounded.

Members acted as mediators in a dispute between two individuals.

RCMP issued a 60 day roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Unity, Sask. There were no injuries.  A traffic ticket was issued to one vehicle driver.

There was a report of intoxicated individuals loitering on the street. Members patrolled but could not locate the subjects of complaint.

Members attended a two-vehicle collision near Salvador, Saskatchewan. Both vehicle drivers sustained minor injuries.  A traffic ticket was issued to one vehicle driver.

RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter at Unity Delta Co-op but it was unfounded.

Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. One vehicle passenger sustained minor injuries.

Members received a complaint of theft. The property was returned the following day.  No charges were laid.

There was a report of vehicle driving off the road near Winter SK. Members attended but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 10 to 16, 2017

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint was located and transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Police received a report of a suspicious person at a rural residence. Members located the subject of complaint who was lost and transported the individual back to the care of his family.

Members received two reports of a female walking on Highway 14. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

RCMP received a complaint of assault. Members attended and spoke with the complainant and subjects of complaint.  No charges were laid.

Members received a report of cattle on Highway 21 south of Unity, Sask. The owner was herding the animals into the pasture when members arrived.

Police seized a small amount of hash oil and cannabis marijuana during a traffic stop. No charges were laid.  Two traffic tickets were issued to the vehicle occupants.

A 21-year-old male from Unity was charged with obstruction of peace officer when members initiated a traffic stop and the subject of complaint fled from the vehicle. The vehicle driver was also issued a traffic ticket and a 60 day drivers licence suspension.

CN Rail employees reported a railway crossing light malfunction on the Tako grid road.

A passport was turned into Unity Detachment. It was returned to Passport Canada.

There were also two traffic complaints and one false 911 call.

RCMP received a complaint of an adult male attempting to lure a youth into a black truck. The truck drove away after the youth ignored the request.  Members patrolled but could not locate the suspect vehicle.

Police received a complaint of a stolen truck but it was unfounded.

A 46-year-old female from Unity, Saskatchewan, was charged with identity fraud and obstructing a police officer when she gave false identification during a traffic stop. The woman was also issued a traffic ticket.

Police attended a two vehicle collision in Unity. There were no injuries.
