This week’s paper

Our page layout people did a fabulous job of creating a Western look for the May 18th issue of the Unity Wilkie Press-Herald, all in honour of this week’s Unity Western Days. As for content, you will find:

  • an introduction to the five girls running for rodeo queen;
  • a list of the locals brave enough to throw their hats in the ring for Celebrity “Bull” Riding;
  • photos from and a write-up on  the Unity Sports Wall of Fame induction ceremonies May 9; and
  • results from the UCHS junior high track meet.

Add in the editorial page, a Western Days Top 10, judges’ comments on the Press-Herald from the Saskatchewan newspapers’ awards night and the RCMP report and everyone should find something of interest in their local community newspaper!

Below – members of the Cardinals senior men’s baseball team, themselves inductees into the Sports Wall of Fame, congratulate the 2014 Mosquito Cardinal Provincial A2 Baseball Champions. Look for photos of all inductees to be posted at unity stories later this week.
