RCMP Report for November 6 to 12, 2018

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for November 6 to 12, 2018

RCMP received a complaint of assault with a weapon. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received two reports of fraud. The fraudster claims to have private information and requests payment in bitcoin. These matters are still under investigation. Residents are asked not to respond to these types of requests.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction at Senlac, Saskatchewan. Reported for information purposes.

RCMP received a complaint of taking a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner. The complainant declined to lay charges.

CP Rail reported hitting a cow on the train tracks near Rutland, Sask. Reported for information purposes.

Members spoke with an individual regarding mental health.

Police issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop. A traffic ticket and a liquor ticket were also issued to the vehicle driver.

Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a neighbour.

There was also one traffic complaint, one false 911 call and one false alarm.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 30 to November 5, 2018

RCMP received a complaint of fraud. There are no suspects at this time.

Members received a request to locate a child who had not returned home when expected. The complainant later called police back to report the child had been located.

Police received complaint of an unwanted individual at a local drinking establishment. Members attended but the subject of complaint had already left the premises.

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating a complaint of theft of electricity.

Police received a report of suspicious tire tracks near a business. There is no evidence of criminal activity.

An individual spoke to a member regarding property retrieval from a residence.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the subject of complaint.

RCMP received a complaint of individuals in a residence yard in Salvador, Saskatchewan. There are no suspects at this time.

Police received a report of an unwanted individual at a residence. Member spoke to the subject of complaint.

A 28-year-old female from Wainwright, Alberta was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop.

Members attended the sudden death of a 71-year-old female from Senlac, Sask. The death was not suspicious in nature.

RCMP received a request to keep the peace while an individual retrieved personal belongings from a residence.

Police received a report of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a complaint of an individual in a vehicle throwing an egg at another vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a moose in Memorial Park in Unity. Members patrolled but could not locate the animal.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a family conflict.

Police received a request to keep the peace while an individual retrieved personal items from a residence.

RCMP received a report of a missing person. Members located the subject of complaint and transported the individual back to his residence.

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Police attended a fire at North West Terminal at Unity. The fire started in a commercial grain dryer and is not suspicious in nature. There were no injuries. The fire was extinguished by Unity Fire Department. Unity EMS was also present on scene.

Members received a complaint of uttering threats but it was unfounded.

Police investigating another complaint of uttering threats but it was unsubstantiated.

RCMP Reports for October 2 to 8

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 2 to 8, 2018

RCMP received a report of trespassing but it was unfounded.

Police are investigating a complaint of a break-and-enter into a rural residence.

There was a tractor fire west of Unity, Saskatchewan. The fire was extinguished by Unity Fire Department and was not suspicious in nature.

Members attended a two-vehicle collision in Unity. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police received a complaint of a stolen van from a residence in Unity. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a complaint of theft from a rural oil site near Denzil, Sask. There are no suspects at this time.

RCMP received a report of an abandoned vehicle at the Delta Co-op Hardware Store. Members spoke with the registered owner of the vehicle.

CN Police reported a near collision between a VIA Rail train and a gravel truck near Scott SK. The train came to an emergency stop to avoid a collision.  There were no injuries.  No details regarding the gravel truck could be provided to RCMP.

Police received a report of an intoxicated individual walking down the street in Unity. The complainant could not provide any descriptors for the individual.

Members received a report of a vehicle rolling on its side while being towed. Reported for insurance purposes.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. Members contacted the subject of complaint who returned to pay for the fuel.  No charges were laid.

CN Police reported a train derailment near Senlac SK.Nine cars derailed due to a broken train wheel.  There were no injuries and no dangerous goods were involved in the derailment.

Members received a complaint of theft from a residence in Unity. This matter is still under investigation.

Police are investigating a complaint of assault.

RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in a back alley. Members patrolled but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

RCMP Reports for September 25 to October 1

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for September 25 to October 1, 2018

Unity RCMP received a report of a missing person. The person has since been located.

Police received a report of abandoned vehicles near Senlac, Saskatchewan. One of the vehicles was discovered to be stolen out of Coronation, Alberta. The other vehicles were registered and were later moved by the registered owner. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual lying on a roadway in Unity. Members spoke with the subject of complaint. No further issues.

Members attended a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 14 in Unity. An 89-year-old male from Unity was transported by EMS to Unity Health Centre where he was confirmed deceased.  The other vehicle driver, a 63-year-old male from Saskatoon, was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

A 31-year-old male from Edmonton, AB was charged with uttering threats after threatening to damage a building in Unity and threatening another individual.

RCMP attended a residence fire in the Reward area. The fire was extinguished by Luseland Fire Department and was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a complaint of a container enclosing possible drug paraphernalia located in a rural area near Gravel Lake. This matter is still under investigation.

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS For September 18 to 24, 2018

RCMP received a report of suspicious vehicles near Saskatchewan Highway 14. Members attended and located two vehicles that belonged to individuals who were legally hunting in a field.

Police received a complaint of an individual throwing an egg at a residence. Reported for information purposes.

An employee from a local business turned in a small container of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Members seized the drugs to be disposed.  There are no suspects.

Members are investigating a report of suspicious vehicles located near Senlac, Sask.

RCMP received a report of a lost dog. Members advised they would look for it during patrols but the issue is not a police matter.
