Gold medals for Unity youth at SWG

Unity youth were key members of the Rivers West District alpine skiing team, winning two gold and one silver medal. Harley Harris of Landis also added to the Rivers West medal count with two silver. All events took place at Table Mountain.

Ashton Brebner won gold in the U16 boys’ slamon and silver in the ski cross. The next two photos are Ashton in/for the slalom event.

Alexis Elder also competed in ski cross and finished just out of the medals, in fourth place. Here she is, in slalom.

RCMP Reports for January 30 to February 5

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for January 30 to February 5, 2018

RCMP received a complaint of criminal harassment. Members contacted the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Police received a report of uttering threats. Members contacted the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

A 58-year-old Wilkie male was charged with weapons possession contrary to prohibition order, unsafe storage of firearms, resist peace officer and assault on police officer during a traffic stop.

Members received a Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Saskatoon for assessment.

RCMP received a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle and fraudulent use of a debit card over $5,000. This matter is still under investigation.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a peace bond.

Police received a report of a hit-and-run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a mental health concern.

RCMP received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.

Police received a complaint of uttering threats. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of assault. One individual left the residence to stay with a family member.

There were also two traffic complaints, one false alarm and three false 911 calls.

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats but it was unfounded.

Police received a report of an individual forging a document but it was deemed a civil dispute.

Members served subpoenas to individuals in the Detachment area at the request of Alberta Crown Prosecutors Office.

There was a single vehicle collision but it was non-reportable.

RCMP received a report of an unwanted individual in a building. Members located the individual who left the premises willingly.

Police received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle driver had parked the vehicle legally and was resting.

There was also one false alarm.

Annual baby issue on newsstands tomorrow

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for January 16 to 22, 2018

RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace but it was unfounded.

Police received another complaint of disturbing the peace. The complainant declined to lay charges.

A 56-year-old Unity female was charged with assault with a weapon after members received a complaint of assault.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members transported the subject of complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Police received another Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint agreed to meet members at Unity Hospital for an assessment.

Members received a complaint of an individual tampering with a vehicle gas tank. Reported for information purposes.

There was a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. The driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic ticket after police discovered the vehicle was not registered.

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats. Members issued a verbal warning to the subject of complaint.
