From celebrating 90-plus birthdays to recognition of high school football players, the November 23rd issue of the Unity Wilkie Press-Herald has it all. Check it out for those things plus:

RCMP Reports for October 27 to November 2

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 27 to November 2, 2015

RCMP received a complaint of fraud. Information sent to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Members responded to a complaint of assault. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a hit and run causing damage to a vehicle. Reported for insurance purposes.

CN Police reported a malfunction with a railway crossing arm.

There were also two traffic complaints, one false 911 call and one false fire alarm.

Persons with information about crimes being committed are urged to call the Unity RCMP detachment at 306-228-6300; the Wilkie RCMP at 306-843-3480; or the Macklin RCMP at 306-753-2171. Disfigured and a survivor of a roadside blast  in Iraq on his fourth tour of duty, Bobby Henline today is a standup comedian and motivational speaker who travels across North America speaking to audiences to create awareness about burn survivors and to inspire people to live life to the fullest. He was at Unity Composite High School November 6 – read all about it in the November 16th issue of the Unity Wilkie Press-Herald.

RCMP Reports for October 20 to 26

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 20 to 26, 2015

Members delivered a next-of-kin notification to a family at the request of another RCMP detachment.

A black and yellow bag carrying electronic equipment was turned into RCMP. The owner has not been located.

Police received a complaint of a male pushing garbage bins over so the trash spilled onto the sidewalk. Members made patrols but could not locate the subject of complaint.

Canadian Pacific Railway Police contacted Unity RCMP to report an individual standing on the railway tracks in Unity. The train initiated an emergency stop. Members patrolled but the subject of complaint was gone on arrival.

RCMP received a complaint of the theft of fuel from a local gas station. There are no suspects at this time.

Unity fire department and Unity RCMP responded to a small fire at Wilkie Independent Living. The fire was extinguished by the time members and fire department arrived. The fire was not suspicious in nature.

Members received a report from CN Police of a railway arm malfunction.

There was also one traffic complaint.

RCMP Reports for October 13 to 19

UNITY SK RCMP REPORTS for October 13 to 19, 2015

RCMP attended a fire at a rural residence near Senlac, SK. There were no injuries and the fire was not suspicious.

Police received a complaint of theft of copper wire. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a single vehicle rollover near Unity. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

Members attended a grain truck fire in a rural area. The fire was not suspicious.

RCMP received a complaint of individuals breaking bottles by throwing them on the street. Members patrolled but could not locate any suspects.

Members issued a 90-day roadside suspension during a traffic stop when the driver blew a warning while providing a breath sample. It was the third documented suspension.

Police received a request to keep the peace while an individual was attending a residence to retrieve property.

Members acted as mediators between two neighbours having a disagreement regarding an animal.
